Anthony Jacquez

Born and raised into a blue-collared household in Oxnard, California, Anthony got his start as a Koret Fellow at UC Santa Cruz. During his fellowship, Anthony was selected to conduct community-based research in collaboration with the local migrant community of Santa Cruz County; supporting the goals of the We Belong Project to amplify the voices and needs of undocumented migrants in an exclusive coastal community. He is passionate about centering research as the driving force behind accountable decision-making, and has carried that passion with him into his role working on the Preservation Team of the SF Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD). There, he leveraged his research skills and lived experiences as a tenant in SF to advocate for more transparency, for both tenants as well as non-profit real estate developers. Anthony currently has his BA in Sociology as well a BA in Psychology from UCSC, most notably, he graduated with Highest Honors in the department of Sociology.
